Shop announcements…

Let’s get the bad news out of the way first shall we? You may have seen the news yesterday that Royal Mail prices are rising next week. We’d been kept very much in the dark by RM recently who kindly kept informing us with copious junk mail-outs that the prices were about to go up but didn’t actually tell us by how much and which services would be most affected. It now transpires that they were waiting for the go-ahead from the regulator to run rampant through the business parcel post services hiking them astronomically – particularly to Europe and the Rest of the World (as it’s known in RM parlance!)

We’re going to give it a week to weigh up the true cost to us but there’s absolutely no doubt that our P&P to all destinations will have to go up on the 10th April. This is, I can promise you, just to keep the balance sheet vaguely sensible. We’ve always kept our P&P charges to the absolute minimum and will continue to do so. Of course, I’ll let you know what the increases will be as soon as we’ve digested the full implications of the rises. In the meantime, you have 10 days or so to take advantage of the current rates…

Secondly – and with the above bad news in mind – we’ve got a couple of real treats for you in the shop! How do you fancy some lovely Spring knitting in the sunshine? Would it be even nicer with a generous discount? Thought so… while stocks last (so you’d better be quick!) Manos del Uruguay Serena (a lovely Pima Cotton/Alpaca blend) and Manos del Uruguay Lace (Alpaca/Silk/Cashmere) are both reduced to clear with 25% OFF! Both are gorgeous yarns, perfect for shawls, lightweight tops and other Spring/Summer projects so head over and take a look…

Manos del Uruguay Lace

We’re sorry to see them go but exciting new arrivals mean our tiny space is under pressure once more!

There are a few odd balls of Noro sock yarn lurking at silly prices while you’re there too ;-)

Love Wool!

This week is officially even more woolly than usual! It’s the Campaign for Wool’s annual ‘Wool Week’ from September 5th – 11th and there are all sorts of events taking place around the UK in celebration of our favourite natural fibre.

For lots more info on events this week check out the campaign website. You can even follow the them on Twitter for the latest news…

If all this talk of wool has got you itching to knit then you can also get 10% off your Meadow Yarn orders using the voucher code LOVEWOOL until midnight on 11th September (it even applies to sale stock so there are some truly amazing bargains to be had if you’re quick!!)

Making space…

I came back from Knit Nation energised and full of ideas for new brands & products I’d love to stock but first we need to finish making space ready for a bit of a ‘re-birth’!

We’ve got up to 30% off some truly lovely yarns (so hard to say goodbye!) so if your favourite is up for grabs now is the time to treat yourself…

More clearance goodies!

We’ve just added all these amazing yarns to our clearance sale! We’re still re-jigging the range and making space for new woolly loveliness so grab a bargain while stocks last… Rowan Pure wool 4ply, Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, Rowan Renew, Manos Wool Clasica, Rowan Cocoon & more all with up to 30% off!

The meadow

The eponymous meadow is well and truly alive now. After an incredibly warm, dry April the grasses are already knee high and the insect life is rife. Not to mention sightings of hares, young rabbits and the odd deer!

The swallows have a rowdy brood in the rafters of the tractor shed and watching the adults  swoop in and out with mouthfuls of food to a rapturous reception is hypnotic!

The May (hawthorn) blossom is emerging and the Crab Apple, which was just last week at its best is already fading…

As is nature’s way, things are constantly changing…

We have been hatching plans this weekend that will change things around here, some meadow related, some yarn related! All will be revealed over the next couple of months…

In the meantime, we are preparing for a little mid-season treat! Keep an eye on the shop web site over the next day or so (or as long as it takes me to get it all together!!) and there will be some truly bargainous price reductions… and yes, of course ‘bargainous’ is a real word ;-) No matter what my spell-checker might think.

Making space…

We’re very excited to announce that we’re about to welcome our very first delivery from Rowan! We think their yarn will compliment our existing range perfectly and we can’t wait to dive into a big box of Felted Tweed (it’s always been a favourite of mine!!)

To make space in the Meadow Yarn barn for all this wonderful new stock we’re clearing out a few odds and ends and there are some great discounts to be had if you head over to the shop

How about Debbie Bliss Eco Baby for just £2.40 a ball!

Or Lana Grossa sock yarn (quick, there’s not much left!) from £2.70

We’ve got wonderfully warm Sublime Luxurious Woolly Merino reduced to clear at £3.70

And last but not least Artesano Silk Embrace is reduced from £14.99 to just £8.99 a ball…

I’m pretty sure there are some other great bargains tucked away on the site to so have a good look around! Stocks are low and once its gone its gone so don’t delay…

Right, that’s the public service announcement over. Normal service will resume imminently with lots of ‘works in progress’ to catch up with ;-)
