Things have been afoot behind the scenes here for a while… and today we are very very excited to announce that the late nights, early mornings and too much time staring at a screen have resulted in… YARMA!!

Yarma is an iOS app that will work on iphones, ipods and ipads and it’s essentially a nifty little camera app that allows you to upload photos directly into Ravelry projects.

Not really anything at all to do with Meadow Yarn – more an independent venture – but you may have seen me plugging it on Twitter and Ravelry 😉

Chris is responsible for the technical geekery and an old colleague, Will Morris-Julien, who’s blog is here, made it look (we think) splendiferously beautiful…

We’re quite pleased with it. it’s a bit of an ‘Instagram’ for Ravelry that lets you add filters/borders etc. to your pics before uploading them and it also connects to Flickr should you wish to.

Here’s a couple of screen shots…

If you’re a Ravelry user and you’ve got an iphone, ipod touch or ipad  (one with a camera) you might like it too. It’s available from the itunes store and will set you back just $0.99 (that’s 69p to us Brits 😉 )

Click here to find out more and/or download it.

Now, I’m off to enjoy a positively balmy Suffolk evening with a spot of knitting, a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive (or two) …
