Resolved…

Well, a new year… how on earth did that happen? It’s been quiet over here on the blog for a while now and although I’m definitely not one for new year resolutions, it would be nice to make this space a bit more inspiring, to share more of the goings-on knit-wise and otherwise this year! So let’s get to it shall we?

Part of the reason for the absence has been a house move a few weeks before Christmas. You know how it is, just as the business gets super busy for knitting season we finally get our planets and moons aligned and the house we had every extremity crossed would become our next home is a reality… after months and months of torturous waiting! Having outgrown our perfect little Victorian house (a family of 5 sharing a tiny 2  bedroom house was always going to have its issues!) we set about finding a bigger, wilder, more ‘free-range’ kind of living space and heard about a farmhouse close by our office that seemed just the thing. We enquired, waited, nudged, waited, chivied, waited and tried not to get too hung up on the what-ifs and maybes that inevitably niggled and it paid off.

The wait seems a dim and distant memory now as we start to settle into our amazing new space…

11409875733_5272998af7Nestled into a hollow in the marshes and completely surrounded by a Wildlife Trust nature reserve it is beyond our wildest dreams…

11409887025_ac8ab76833Outbuildings galore and even a walled garden ready to be transformed into a replacement for our beloved allotment.

11409951726_aec658c66dThe interior is full of tiny doorways, especially upstairs where the rooms are tucked into ancient eaves – the door above is no more than 4ft and even our 10 year old has to duck to go into the upstairs bathroom!

11410058164_8d61e4121eFull of evidence of ancient water pumps and complete with quirky fixtures and fittings everywhere you turn.

And then there’s the garden…
