I dont *think* that’s a euphemism for anything untoward 😉

In this context it’s the realisation that the big pile of ‘Finished Knits’ that have been worn extensively but have remained unphotographed through our wet, grey, dismal Winter are destined never to grace the blog in a ‘drumroll’ style and it’s time to just bite the bullet and start from the here-and-now 😉

This is Uniform

DSCF3645Billed as a ‘build your own cardigan’ pattern from Carrie Bostick Hoge (who has designed for Quince & Co. among others and is a fave here) there are options given for long, short, shaped, simple, plain necked or shawl collar versions with different pocket styles and cuff details. I loved knitting this for many reasons but I have to say the pure delight knitting with this fabulous ORANGE yarn as Spring started to work its magic and the sun occasionally shone was just bliss…

DSCF3647It’s Peace Fleece Worsted – a proper woolly blend of 90% US grown pure wool and 10% Mohair for a soft, subtle fuzzy halo – and it is a dream to knit, definitely in my top 5 yarns. It’s a tough little number, properly rustic and this shade – Marigold – is just the most perfect ORANGE (did I mention that already?)

DSCF3640My local haberdashery store even had the perfect vintage style buttons.

DSCF3638It’s already getting a lot of wear… I may have to buy a whole new wardrobe that compliments my new ORANGE cardigan 😉

DSCF3635All the details – including my size adjustments to accommodate the yarn – can be found on Ravelry here

We’re truly springing into Spring in our new home… there is a lot of digging, planting, sitting, sipping, knitting and just general wallowing in our perfect surroundings going on. I’ll do my best to keep you in the picture 😉
